Wedding Season (2022)

We were hopeful when we saw representation in the form of this new netflix rom-com but were so disappointed. The movie plays right into typical stereotypes of Indian “culture”, the characters aren’t likeable (apart from Ravi), the story was so unoriginal and the execution, left wanting. What a waste of time. I get that there are some elements in the movie that do actually happen but they were not explored in an appropriate way to the movie genre.Even nuances in acting quality, avoiding over-dramatisation and not making characters so far gone OTT, would have made this movie so much better.
