Halle Berry stars in the indie thriller Kidnap. While at a park a single mother's child is abducted out from under her, lead her to get into a high-speed car chase; knowing that if she loses them she'll never see her son again. Berry gives a really strong performance and director Luis Prieto does a good job at keeping the film in the main character's perspective; adding to the tension and suspense. And the stunt work is especially well-done, making for some really incredible car crashes and fight scenes. Yet the film is kind of limited in where it can go and what it can do. Still, despite having a few weaknesses, Kidnap is a gritty and exciting chase film that's remarkably intense.

This movie is a joke. I might have to high of standards but, the mother had more than one opportunity to get the kid back. I also think the acting itself was mediocre. Not worth the money. It gets one star from me for the fact that it was so poorly wrote I was yelling at her the whole time. Here is an example you know those corny Halloween murder movies where you scream at the kids because they open the door or leave it wide open as they are running that is this movie. She does things that make no sense at all as a mom. The camera work was very shaky and the movie must not have been long enough because there is a 2 minute scene where all you see is a car and a tree.

Nowhere near as terrible as many reviewers state - actually a lot of fun. Be ready to look past the fact there are no police to be found - anywhere, which gets a little comical at some point. I get there aren't as many cops in rural Louisiana as a city, but there are some, lol. The one cop that does appear befalls a tragedy which would cause police all around to be on a serious manhunt. So don't start questioning plot holes or looking for character development, just go along for the ride - a mom chasing after kidnappers of her child. It's a fun popcorn movie that's even better if you're a screamer at surprises, which my wife is (this was a 5 screamer). If you're a Halle Barry fan that enjoys Lifetime movies with action and some hands-on vengeance, this is a must-see.
