Book club was fun this weekI didn't read the book but no one got mad at me which was niceBut they're still making us read a book for next week and now I'm really behind so not quite 5 starsI also don't like the book we're reading which is why I didn't read itIt's about this guy who doesn't like rats and he works for the government and I didn't like it because I couldn't relate to him I love rats and I work at SubwayI'm a sandwich artist and the man in the book is notI know you're supposed to read for escapism but this is too much I love my jobBook club was good though I enjoyed

So why would a dude in his 40s want to see a movie about four women in their 70s? Well, three of 'em have Oscars, the other a shelf full of Emmys. And, well, I have a MoviePass and a multiplex a block away from my house. While the Book Club's reading of the Fifty Shades books as a premise seems somewhat dated, the film is chock-full of laughs. It's funny, well acted, and actually has a story. However it's an upper middle class vision without any diversity. On the plus side, they've provided some good eye-candy for the ladies seeing this flick: Don Johnson and Andy Garcia. They've also dusted off Ed Begley, Jr., Craig T. Nelson, and Richard Dreyfuss. I'm having a 1970s/1980s flashback. Anyhow, Book Club does what a comedy is supposed to do ... make you laugh!

I liked this movie. I was fun to see the old ladies that were once great beauty's. As old ladies go they still look pretty good. Not sure why Mary Steenburgen was in the mix, but she didn't distract too much from the great beauty queens of Hollywood. Her story was a bit to endure while waiting for something to happen with the other ladies. I guess the other lady's couldn't get around much and they had to have a younger women that could still dance a bit to do things because they probably couldn't move much. All in all. it was interesting to watch.
