7 Hours to Go (2016)

There is a germ of a good idea in the story and in parts, the movie did grab my attention. To their credit, they didn’t do the stereotypical hostage story that viewers have seen dozens of times. That alone is worth something! However, the storyboarding is inconsistent and the movie seems adrift after about an hour. The character – Amol Palekar was really annoying and his quirkiness really distracted from the main story. Most actors did a reasonable though not a captivating job. But the script writer and the director have let the movie down. Although the story is different, this movie reminded my of Denzel Washington’s Inside Man – a hostage story with a twist. The movie is worth watching just for the twist; not for the execution for sure.
